Caregiver Support Services in the City of Hamilton

Support services for home-based caregivers are available in a variety of ways in the City of Hamilton:

• through Home Child Care Support Services, a program of Affiliated Services for Children and Youth
• from licensed home child care agencies, usually focussed on approved caregivers who are supervised by the agency
• through Ontario Early Years Centres
• through support groups and community networks

Among the activities offered are peer support, annual conferences, newsletters and workshops. These services are intended to promote quality child care and to offer support for new and established home-based caregivers. They encourage the development of positive relationships among caregivers, parents, and the community while promoting quality care for the children and families they serve.
