Child Care Information Hamilton

Child Care Information Hamilton is a free, confidential information and referral service for child care in the City of Hamilton. The service, funded through the City of Hamilton, is the first point of access to information for parents, caregivers, centre operators, early childhood educators and anyone else with a child care question. Office hours are Monday to Friday 9:30 to 4:30. Child Care Information Hamilton's counsellors can respond to your questions on a variety of subjects such as:

• free customized parent information package
• how to choose and monitor a child care program (centre-based or home-based)
• how to contact child care subsidy
• Registry of Home-based Child Care
• seasonal camps and children's programs
• how to connect with services for children with special needs
• contact information and descriptions for child care services and child-related programs/organizations
• highlights of the Day Nurseries Act
• Ontario Early Years Centres and toy lending services
• Parenting and Family Literacy Centres
• how to start a child care service
• caregiver support groups
• staff education and professional requirements

Child Care Information Hamilton is a service of Community Information Hamilton, and is located on the fifth floor of the Central branch of the Hamilton Public Library in Jackson Square Mall.
